Metadata

Metadata at Ooligan Press
In my last year at Ooligan, I served as the Operations Manager and Publisher’s Assistant. One of the key responsibilities in this role is managing the metadata for our frontlist titles and updating backlist metadata whenever anything new and noteworthy comes in. Ops can first step in to advise on Keywords, BISAC codes, and Thema subjects during the marketing plan creation, but the primary work begins with ingesting metadata into CoreSource for digital distribution. Once data has been distributed, it’s up to Ops to regularly audit online retailers to make sure that the data is displaying correctly. When there are errors, Ops troubleshoots on CoreSource before reaching out to Ingram’s metadata specialist or contacting the retailer directly.
